Junior Achievement offers a range of enterprise programmes for young people aged 5-18 years. Junior Achievement invests in a comprehensive education strategy to ensure that the design and delivery of each of our programmes complement the formal curriculum and provide quality learning opportunities for our volunteers and student participants. To drive developments in this area, we are now seeking to appoint an Education Manager.


Programmes & Materials:
– Create and oversee schedule to amend and localise existing programmes
– Research/develop new programmes, localise US versions and amend where necessary, liaising with funding body/corporate funder during the development phase
– Draft workshops for funded projects
Strategic Development:
– Coordinate the work of the JA Education Taskforce and assist the Chairman in making reports to the board as to its work
– Disseminate the recommendations of the Taskforce to staff and coordinate their implementation across the network
– Liaise with third level organisations to harvest potential benefits of partnerships and links in terms of research opportunities and research personnel, projects etc.
– Liaise with external agencies to maximise possible synergies in pursuit of the JA mission e.g. task forces, think tanks, Government agencies, Department of Education & Skills, Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation
– Contribute to the strategic planning of Junior Achievement activity; mix of programmes, rate of growth, resource requirements etc.
– Work with our European colleagues within the JA-YE Europe network to maximise possible synergies across our international network
Quality Assurance:
– Manage the relationship and programme coordination with a small number of corporate supporters allowing the implementation of the QA process for programmes and delivery
– Train staff in new programmes/workshops
– Manage new staff training and development programmes
– Mentor and support front-line staff in core competencies such as company relationship management
– Follow up with regional staff on evaluation targets
– Run pilots and focus groups for volunteers, students and teachers. E.g. where a new workshop/programme has been introduced
– Manage internal and external educational marketing collateral
– Keep fully up to date on all matters relating to developments within the Irish education system including curriculum development and pedagogical trends
– Analyse results from business volunteers’ and supporting organisations’ feedback so that we can continue to meet stakeholders’ expectations and proactively manage trends in training design
– Establish output indicators to measure effectiveness of JA initiatives across programmes and projects to underpin the achievement of appropriate learning outcomes and complement the work of educators in the formal curriculum.
Role Requirements:
This position needs someone with considerable initiative and with “self-starter” ability. He/she must be able to work to targets with minimum supervision.
– Education to postgraduate level
– Minimum 4-5 years relevant work experience
– Excellent organisational ability
– Ability to manage specific projects while working as part of a team
