28 companies will host over 850 Cork students across a wide variety of sectors including science, technology, engineering, hospitality and media thanks to the My Future My Business supported by Tomar Trust.
My Future My Business offers 1st and 4th year students active learning engagement with business professionals. These business professionals, and working role models, deliver programmes and workshops that help students to see the relevance of their studies and post-school career choices and building bridges between learning and ambition.
The project involves nine secondary schools in Cork City and County including Mayfield Community School, Terence MacSwiney Community College and North Monastery Secondary School.
Workshops in the Workplace are just one element of the six week programme which have become hugely impactful for the participating students as they gain insights into real-world working environments. Companies and their volunteers have found the Workshops in the Workplace to be equally rewarding, as well as an effective way of providing students with an overview of careers and opportunities that are available.
Some of the companies participating this year are RED FM, Mckesson Healthcare, Vienna Woods Pairc Ui Chaoimh, EPS Group, Blizzard Entertainment; Voxpro; Wisetech; CoreHR and Teamwork. Thank you to all participating companies and Tomar Trust for their continuing support.
